I've got 2 new favorite songs I'd like to "turn you on" to.
Yumminess at it's finest...
First of all, Milla Jovovich & Maynard Keenan collaborated with Danny Lohner once again, producing a spine chillin' piece called The Mission. It's brand spankin' new...like last week new. Danny has been busy working on the new Underworld Soundtrack, so no wonder why these amazing artists would wind up working together again. Promise that once you hear The Mission, it will be stuck in your head all day. What do YOU know?
The second song, which I had been playing nonstop until The Mission came out, is another Puscifer masterpiece called Lighten up Francis - JLE Dub Remix. This is the song I want to be getting naked to during my next photoshoot. It is a booty shakin' remix by my friend Joshua Eustis, from the New Orleans/Chicago electronic super duo, Telefon Tel Aviv. Maynard's voice sounds fucking fantastic. Josh is an amazing talent is his own right, and just a gifted soul. Beautiful...
Speaking of Telefon Tel Aviv, I have some very sad news. Charlie Cooper, the other half of Telefon Tel Aviv, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2009. Their album, Immolate Yourself, just came out last week as well.. Lots of love, light, & positive energy to his family, loved ones, and fans...especially from me to his longtime friend & musical soulmate. <3
Unfortunately, I also just found out that a childhood (well, teenage) friend's mother passed away as well. Charles Wesley Cooper, III & Miss Nancy, you have helped open the minds & touch the lives of many people. You will be missed. Very much so...
Back to the groovin' tunes, you can hear both new song's on Puscifer's website & MySpace pages. The new Telefon Tel Aviv album is available now, and if you purchase on iTunes, you get a free track along with the album. It's sooo good. This is a time of much change, confusion, and some chaos in the world. Please help us help everyone else create a place of new energy, love, and light. We can all do this together. Don't you wanna join me???
xoxo.
